First thing to do is to rust proof it. Second thing is buy all the manuals.
Third- replace the fuel pressure switch in the diesel fuel filter base
(can't find it? That's what the manuals are for). Fourth- Join the MVPA and
start getting free magazines from them with all the parts distributor ads.
Fifth- Install block heater for winter. Sixth- Join Merrimack Valley
Military Vehicle Collectors which is a great resource and people.
Most parts (not all) are the same as civy. Good source is
www.LMCtruck.com & JC Whitney. Local parts? Chevy dealer (rip off) Is
the truck running? Have you seen the truck in person? Remember, the only
part of the truck that is 24v (2 batteries) is the starter. Also, when you
fill the tank, it holds 27 gal. Paint- Rapco in Texas has the best quality.
Form 97 should be good enough.

MVMVC summer rally in Weare, NH on 7/29, 30th & leave on Sunday. Over 150
different MV's and camping out with others in the hobby. If you want more
info, I can give you my phone #.

Subject: [MV] First military vehicle, and your help is appreciated.

I've recently won an auction and will be obtaining a 1984 Chevy Blazer
6.2 diesel, 4x4.

I'm interested in restoring its original shape as a military vehicle.
I'd like to know if anybody has great resources for paint and parts to
replace/repair its current condition to as new as possible. I will be a
weekend driver for me. I live in the North East so local contacts are
always appreciated. Also, are there additional clubs, forum's,
resources out there I can bounce ideas off of? Last question is the
title for this truck. My understanding is that is being sold from the
military with a SF97? Is this similar to a bill of sale, and is it
difficult to work with DMV to obtain a title and road plates? Other
there other options to consider. Thank you in advance.
