My Uncle was an Intelligence NCO during WW II. He was amongst other things,
an interpreter. He had 2 College Degrees & spoke 5 languages. He told me
the only time he would not agree to an assignment, was when they wanted him
to jump, at night, behind the lines. He would go but not jump at night.
They eventually sent him by land. It was interesting, since he was like
Mr. Milktoast.

His extensive book collection included some rare finds.

I had previously stated that I inherited a Half-Track Technical Manual TM
9-708. Now in going thru other books that I received is another Half-Track
beauty.
