I have one, and I think that it's a very nice generator. Without the
Acoustic Suppression Kit (ASK) installed, they are VERY LOUD. We're
talking hearing protection required within 10 feet loud. With the ASK
they're still loud, but not dangerously/painfully so. I was lucky to
find a complete NOS ASK in the crate for mine, but it's the only one
I've ever seen for sale.

It's rated 12kW at sea level, and is derated to 10kW at higher
altitudes. It happily makes single or 3-phase power, changed by turning
a tap switch behind a safety cover and re-connecting the load properly.
It weighs around 1,200 pounds, as I recall, compared to around 850
pounds for the equivalent gasoline-powered set (which I happen to be
selling on eBay at the moment... :-)

The gasoline-powered 10kW set is also hearing-protection-required loud,
by the way. I don't know if an ASK was made for it.

The parts do seem to be harder to get than for the gasoline-powered sets
(i.e., most of the gasoline-powered parts are easily available from
Saturn Surplus, while the diesel parts aren't). I'm lucky that the only
part I've needed was a replacement battery charging regulator (mine had
been removed before I bought the set), and I managed to find one by dumb
luck.

The manuals are all available from LOGSA. Various folks sell CDs, but
they can be downloaded for free.
