You might want to try priming your gas system. The way I've always done this
was by using my air compressor and about 5 psi of air. I would first loosen
the fuel line at the carb just a little bit. Then I would take the air hose
and some rags and put slight pressure in the fuel tank (don't put too much,
you might deform the tank) Let it go for a little while till you see fuel
coming out from around the loosened line. Release the pressure and
retighten the line at the carb. Should crank up now. If you don't see fuel
come out of the line, you might still have it too tight or your lines are
clogged.

Subject: [MV] Dead MULE. Wha happan?

Hi all,

Ever since I rebuilt my M274A3 three years ago I've had virtually no
problems with it. Today I was driving around after my 3rd round trip
to pick up firewood when it just up and died on me. I figured it had
run out of gas, which I do think is the case. Filled 'er up with a
couple of gallons and thought I'd be all set. I've got an electric
start kit on it (thankfully!) and cranking over sounded normal, but no
ignition. I pulled the fuel filter and found some silt like rust
deposit in the bottom, but nothing major (less than when I ran it
before the rebuild). Next I checked the lines between the filter and
the tank and found them to be, as far as I can tell, unplugged. I do
not know about the line between the filter and the carb because I can't
get a wrench on it without taking apart half the engine. Yet when I
crank the engine over I'm getting no gas in the fuel filter bowl or
anywhere in the line between the tank and the filter.

Does this sound like a plug somewhere, or perhaps somewhere else?
Anybody have any suggestions what I should try next?

Thanks!

Steve
