Anyone else see the recent History Channel's special on the sinking of the
battleship Maine? Seems pretty conclusive now, Adm. Rickoven and his team
were right, the Maine was not sunk by a Spanish mine or by any other
deliberate act. She was sunk due to a slow burning coal fire adjacent to
the munitions locker that just overheated the gunpowder and ka-boooom! Now
there's a big oops.

Just think, if we had not followed up by declaring war there's a good chance
Spain would still own Cuba, then we would have never had a Cuban missile
crisis and Fidel might be running a pedicab in Havana or working Ho's on the
Esplanade!
