If it's #2 heating oil, it's OK to run it as engine fuel as long as you
first run it through a 2 micron filter first. Also, watch the ambient
temperature. Heating oil contains more paraffin than #2 diesel and
will gel at higher temps than #2 diesel. Take a sample of the
heating oil, put it in a glass jar and put it in the fridge with a
thermometer in it, then monitor the temp and see what temp the
heating oil starts to gel. That'll give you a good idea of how cold
the weather can get before the gel action starts.
