To one and all.... The trip was a great one. I saw many MV's on trailers -
on the highways...going to their new owners I guess.
One was a nice looking 114..!!!!! All done up in CAMMO..
Wonder where it went -- was headed East in Georgia. I saw many MV's in
yards all over the country.. Saw a nice looking WC in Oklahoma..
Timing was bad for the guys I wanted to visit... My court date in Florida
kept me there until after 4:30...--I WON THE CASE - and got AL my money plus
expenses...!!!! after which I headed South to visit my Cousin bill who
landed at Iwo Jima..and was present at the flag raising.
He is the one I said his mom dumped his swords and Jap rifle off to the
Police in NYC.. Well...now -- for the rest of the story. Billy went to the
Police...this was in early 1946.. He made such a stink - they did some
looking...and , because all the items had USMC tags on them with his
name --everything was returned to him. He still has the Jap swords (3) and
his jap rifle.!!! with the mum intact. Bill is 80 now and looked good.... I
was glad to have gotten to see him and my other cousins in Florida after 30
years..!!!
All in all---loved the trip --spend a lot of night on Military
bases...watched the Air Show at NAS Pensacola...was great!!
Glad to be home !!
