RE: New main bearing caps!

The 6.2/6.5 DDA engine may has some other problems. But I would not worry
about the lower end and main caps and bolts. It has very strong lower
webbing and four bolt main caps similar to the GM 454 gas ingines used in
marine use.. You should never have any trouble with the crank area except
for the harmonic damper issue, for the normal 125-150 K life of this light
duty motor. It should not be compared to the medium/heavy engines which are
far more rugged, since it was never intended to be a 500 K engine. It is a
good engine for what it was intended.

Glenn

I'm not sure what you are referring to, but if you replace the main
caps, you normally have to have the engine line bored.

If you are looking for max strength, studs are hard to beat. I bet ARP
sells a set that would work for the 6.2.
