anyone remember in "days gone by" a canvas water bag could be purchased that
was designed to hang of front of vehicle for a cool drink of water when you
stopped -- about the same time that a device was sold that fastened in a
partly opened vehicle window and when filled with ice made a cool breeze
come in car as you drove along. There was another device, made for mounting
inside car under dash, had a metal tube that connected to a plate that was
put between carb. and manifold, drew gasoline fumes into this device and
they were ignited by a spark plug in the device, I was a small boy when my
father had one of these in his 1939 Ford car so I do know much more about
how it worked, just that it gave some heat to inside car.
