Don't know about the Kenworths but this did remind me of some Autocars
that were auctioned off on GL last year. They were out at Aberdeen and
were tractors w/ 3 rear axles. I love Autocars and these were
impressive looking in the auction pics.

Subject: [MV] Kenworths in US service Info reqd

A number of years back, around 1986 or 1987 a number of Kenworth 6 X 6
trucks were alleged to have entered trials or service with the US
military, branch or place unknown.

The trucke were a conventional cab with the big cam Cummins 14L engines
and the  trucks were fitted with a LHS or PLS or DROPS system, many
names same idea, big hook to lift up flat racks on the back. I'm not
sure but may be these were a pre-cursor to the HEMMET PLS system.

So what im after is a couple of things, does anyone know where these
were used? Does anyone have any pics of them in use? Can anyone confirm
where they went to after use. I think there were either about 15 or 40
of these trucks.

Rgds
