A 50's civy 302 will help ifn you want to drive it. The DUKW comes in about
18k as I
recall. My CCKW with M32 MG mount is about 11k. The 160 hp 302 (vs 93 hp
270)
made a WORLD of difference especially when towing the searchlight trailer
and Clarkair
dozer + ~9300 lbs. I can also cruise at 45 with out being at the redline of
the engine:
2750 for 270, 3250 for civy 302. They even have a civy 302 with a different
block that
incorporated the air compressor and drain for that unit into the block. I
have one. They
are in a mid 50's Low Cab Forward tractor.
