Hi all,

Thanks again for all the suggestions and discussion. As I figured,
another call down to the capital yielded the answer we all expected...
"air assisted brakes? No, you don't need a CDL for that if you aren't
doing commercial work and don't otherwise fit the CDL requirements
(weight, etc.)". I asked where this came from and it came from a
supervisor of the commercial licensing division of the DMV, so that's
good enough for me :-)

Now, on the insurance front. Those of you who suggested State Farm...
THANKS! I got myself a policy with them, for agricultural use, that
weighs in at $840 compared to $1150 (reduced from $1350 because I
declared lower replacement value on the vehicle). So that saved me
$300. And once the bank is fully paid off I'll drop down to just
liability and reduce the $840 further.

As always, it pays to keep at it when things don't seem right.

Steve
