It's my humble opinion that the 6.5 is equally dependable and more powerful
than the 6.2. As was mentioned earlier, the DS-4 electronic injection pump
was the big problem. The 6.5 has a different precup size and design and that
along with the increased displacement makes them noticably less efficient. The
DB-2 pump on the 6.2 can probably be recalibrated to provide the increased
fuel rate for the additional cubes. Long locks are basically the same
externally. The injectors are at a different angle IIRC. I also agree the diesel page
is the best resource on these fine but underpowered engines.
