I'm not a moderator here or the "topic police" but hate & discontent is definately way off-topic;...interesting (Yeh, I love a good scrap) but slamming another guy in this forum (whether he is deserving or not) IS off-topic and belongs in a more intimate (read that "private") setting.
Frankly, I'm looking for a friendlier atmosphere when I open emails on the mil-veh group and I'm honestly sorry we're hearing so many sad tales because I was always of the opinion we were all in this hobby together for the fun and cameraderie...not the grief. Grief, I can get plenty of at work.
If I may offer a simple solution for these future transactions....
Network however you wish but when it comes down to the sale of the item, if there is even the LEAST question of trust, agree to set up a private "auction" on eBay and make the transaction there. If all goes well, everybody goes home happy -and- gets a positive feedback in the bargain. If it doesn't, well, negative feedbacks will tell the tale.
