Think about it...................why isn't straight antifreeze better??? It has to have a water content for the chemical mixture. Because of shipping is why it comes straight. You would need more mix and would then come in 5 gallon bottles. Would make it cost more too.

Ethylene Glycol requires a 50/50 mix for the best freeze protection, but it raises and lowers the boiling point based on being a mix of a kind of alcohol AND water.

Water / Ethelene Glycol Freeze point and Boil Point

70/30 5°F 220°F
60/40 -10°F 220°F
50/50 -30°F 225°F
40/60 -55°F 230°F
30/70 -60°F 240°F
20/80 -50°F 255°F
10/90 -20°F 285°F
0/100 10 390°F

Interestingly, Water and Propylene Glycol is better as above concentrations of 60% freeze protection stays the same or better than -60°F. You only waste money on extra Anti-freeze as opposed to loosing protection levels. Another reason to run Sierra as an Anti-freeze.
