Can the speedometer from an M151 be used in a jeep CJ-7. The CJ has a manual
cable driven by the Dana 300 transfer case leading to the usual dash cluster.
I would like to retrofit the M151 speedo (available from several sources for
$55-60) instead of a civilian VDO or other (more expensive, less sturdy).
Fitting the instrument to the dash is no problem. But can I hook up the drive
cable to the M151 speedometer and have it work? Or are there other issues? Is
there a difference between the M151A1 and A2 instruments?
