I'm a writer who divides his time between magazine job and a book. I am
working on two projects that involve Jeeps and I hope you can help.
The first is a poster for Four Wheel magazine that's a combination history
/ identification guide to Jeep utilities from 1940 to 1997. WHile I have
archival access to just about everything, I prefer to illustrate with,
living, breathing vehicles.
I'm also producing a book, entitled "The Illustrated Classic and
Collectable 4x4 Buyers Guide" for Classic Motorbook and the same applies.
I'd rather show someone's pride and joy than an old photo. To that end,
I've been contacting lots of well known Jeep people in the hopes of finding
photos for the book (and now the poster).
My preference (actually my editors') is a 5x7 black and white, but a clear
color image in the same size is acceptable if the vehicle is not red. I
have a list of Jeeps I am looking for and I enclose it for your reference.
I prefer original vehicles, though they needn't be perfect. Some "under
restoration" shots could be nice as well.
