Don't give up on this engine just because of this. I have often taken
punches and chisels to piston to actually break them apart so the rods
and crank can be removed. Then depending on size of bore you will remove
all rust when boring for larger pistons or engine can be sleeved back to
standard if you wish. but be sure to have the block magnafluxed to check
for cracks. Rebuilding such an engine is certainly not out of the
question.

The question is: do I replace the engine with an orginial
