Hi, Todd,

The BC-620 would be entirely appropriate for a WW-II Jeep. I do not
have any documentation to show exactly when it entered service in the
field, but it was very early in the war if not right at the beginning.

You will need a PE-97 or PE-120 power supply, an FT-250 mount, a
suitable antenna, and audio accessories (mic and headset or
telephone-type handset with push-to-talk switch) to complete an
authentic installation. The whole setup would be properly designated as
Radio Set SCR-510.

Please note that the BC-620 requires an internal battery, type BA-41, to
operate. BA-41s are no longer available from any source that I am aware
of, but you can cobble up a working substitute from readily available
commercial alkaline batteries. If you need details on this, let me
know. You will also need a crystal for each of the frequencies on which
you want to operate the set.

Ed Greeley
