Hi All,

As far as I know, the WW2 type jeep trailers didn't exist in 1939-40
(proto-typed, I believe, in 1941) so they would not be correct for the time
period Gordan is aimimg for. Dave Butler at Vintage Power Wagons had an early
1 ton trailer when we visited in 1994 but he didn't seem to realize what it
was. It had lower sides than the later type and the handbrake lever was in a
different position - at the right front. Also, the landing leg (no wheel) was
folded steel like a jeep trailer. Could be a bit far for Gordan to tow home
though, even if Dave still had it.

Also, TM10-510 "the Motor Vehicle" dated October1,1940 has a few pics of
these nice early vehicles - the 1 ton trailer shown is described as a Laverne
1939 trailer (type 0 vehicle). Tom Gordan at the Military Marketplace, 36-43
East River Road, Bainbridge, Georgia. USA. 31717 Fax 912 243 7406 keeps quite
a few manuals and may have a copy. His catalogue is $3 - credit cards
accepted. Anyone who likes these early US vehicles (especially Dodges) should
have a copy of the video "Army on Wheels" which depicts early pattern US
vehicles on the pre-war Texas manouevers. Available along with many other
great WW2 videos from John Seburn at Vintage Video in Pennsylvania - Fax 717
