When purchased, my 44MB had a red metal tag in the shape of a diamond riveted
to the front of the windshield. The markings on this tag read "US O.A.D. 44"
I can only assume that this means 44th Ordnance Ammunition Depot but I cannot
prove it. If I am correct in this assumption I would like to find any info
available on the 44th O.A.D. I was told that this jeep was brought back from
Germany in 1948 and I do have some evidence to support this suggestion. (The
distributor cap was marked;
Norris-Zund-Licht Nurnberg) So anyone with detailed knowledge of Ordnance
depots in and around Nurnberg after the war is urged to contact me! On the
off chance that no one has such detailed knowledge I will accept guesses from
