The best WWII OD paint I have found is Lusterless Olive Drab # 319 and is
available in spray cans and gallons from Rapco in Bowie TX. They advertise in
every issue of Supplyline and Military Vehicles Magazine. 319 is a great
looking pale olive that I have noticed weathers to almost the exact shade I
have found on dozens of my original parts. 33087 is another shade that is a
darker olive and was used later in the war. Many restorers will tell you to
use OD # 34087 but most of this that I have seen is way too brown in color
for a WWII vehicle.
Keep in mind that this paint is just like the real stuff and it does not age
or weather well. It soaks up oil, mud, and water stains and they will not
wash out. I have never let this bother me. It is just a small price you pay
for originality.
P.S. Buy all your paint at the same time (Gallons and spray cans) Variations
will occur from batch to batch so if you want your touch ups to match your
base coat you'd better make sure it all comes from the same production.
