Hi everyone,

Last weekend I went to the Classic Car Show held by the Combines Car Clubs
of Western Australia at Whiteman Park in Perth. A good turn out by the
military vehicle enthusiasts made the day very successful. As always, the
military vehicles display was the most popular display at the show.

To give an idea of the types of military vehicles being displayed in WA,
here is a list of some that I saw there.

Austin FV1801 (Champ) (1953)
Landrover Series 2A Long Range Patrol Vehicle as used by the Special Air
Service (1969)
Chevrolet CMP C15 4 X 2 Blitz radio truck complete with all radios etc
(1942)
Ford CMP F15 4 X 2 cargo truck (1944)
Jeep MB (1944)
Jeep MB (1942)
Ford GPW (1943) and Willys built 1/4 ton trailer
Dodge WC 51 (1942)
Dodge WC52 (1944)
Ford CMP F60L 4 X 4 machinery truck (1942)
Studebaker 6 X 6, 2. 1/2 ton cargo truck in original US Army markings(1944)
White M3 scout car (1943)
Bren gun carrier (1941)
Harley Davidson WLA (1943) at least 3 of these there
BSA B40 (1960????)
Bofors Mk 12 (electric mounting)40mm anti aircraft gun
L5 pack howitzer
Humber FV1600 1 ton cargo truck (1954) new restoration and painted a very
un-military full gloss red
FWD 4 X 4 2. 1/2 ton cargo truck now doing duty as a prime mover(1943)
M3 Stuart light tank (1942)

The real interesting vehicles were some never seen before in Western
Australia.

Volvo TP21 radio vehicle (1957) This car looks like someone took a 1940
Ford car body and grafted the front end of a Dodge WC51 to it. Ex Swedish
Army

LVAZ-967M amphibious battle field medical evacuation vehicle (year unknown)
Ex Russian Army. Believe it or not, the owner of this vehicle is having
trouble licensing it because the steering wheel is in the exact centre of
the vehicle and the Dept of Transport here can't decide whether it is right
hand or left hand drive. I don't know what they classify any agricultural
tractor as!!!!

Toyota 2FQ15 (about 1957) This looks to be a copy of an M37 with only minor
external detail changes and right hand drive. It is fitted with the Toyota
F series petrol engine as fitted to early Landcruisers. It is believed that
this particular vehicle was used by the US Army in Japan as well as the
Japanese Self Defence force.

Any information on these three vehicles would be greatly appreciated. All
are relatively new imports and the owners are trying to find out as much as
they can about them

I hope you have found this interesting

Cheers
