[MV] RE CCKW brake springs and oil seals

The rear brake springs can be installed with a brake tool that looks like a
large flimsy pair of plyers. Dig the point into the shoe material and you will
be able to unhook the spring.

If the spring is curved or badly rusted in any way REPLACE IT! They tend to
break and if they do, you are going no where!

Oil the adjusters in the backing plate and work the oil in. Pack the wheel
cylinder cups with grease to keep the water out. Use "Never Seize" on the
adjusting screws in the cups.

The seals are large. Go to a local machine shop and have him make you a tool to
insert the seal. You will be much better off.

The front inner axle seal is the 1st part put into the housing. You must remove
the housing from the truck and 'split' it in half and take all the guts
(technical term) out. This is one reason all my trucks have banjo axles.
