Unless it is obviously grooved I don't see why it should be pitched. If it is
grooved I understand that there are processes available that can repair them.
I don't know what this would cost but it is probably more that a replacement
piece but then again maybe not.
Yokes are not scarce yet so if it is grooved you can probably find a NOS
replacement fairly cheap but if you are like me you never throw anything
away. We never know when the time will come that we have to start making our
own replacement parts!
