Hello Fellow MV Folks!

I would like to add Jack of Jack's Govt. Surplus as a parts source for MV
stuff. He is located in Tucson, Arizona and I have dealt with him on a
limited basis for over 20 years. He is primarily a MV builder and as such
would rather sell whole vehicles rather then parts. His prices are a
little higher then a lot of other suppliers, however, he has been fair
and he does have the stuff. Pricing MVs and their parts must be difficult
for dealers. They have to be able to stay in business and often bid and
buy stuff that they can't sell for years. They are hit with all kinds of
taxes, insurance and hassles from various goverment agencies and then
expected to deliver the '$300 Jeep' we have all seen in the ads. I am
gratefull for all of the surplus dealers who can stay in business. They
also have to make a profit, so when one prices an item, check the item
out, ask around for comparison and depending on how badly you want or
need the item, pay the price or keep shopping. There are a lot of good
dealers out there and unfortunatley a few bad apples. I have never been
ripped off by Jack in Tucson, although at times thought I was paying too
much. I am the kind of guy who likes to hold a part in my hand and give
the seller cash, that way I know what I am getting and where. We all have
to sometimes take a chance with some dealers we don't know about. We have
all seen on this forum examples of both. If someone has a beef about Jack
in Tucson, let me know as I now recommend him as a fair and honest dealer
who is perceived as having higher prices. But as far as that goes,
today's higher prices are tommorrow bargains. If and when you should
call him, please mention Dave from Flagstaff, he might give me a break on
some M715 parts I want! I have no other connection with the business.

He has at least 4 yards full of M-37s, M715s, M35s, cranes, forklifts,
generators, M151s, M38s, etc. etc. Just to walk around the place is a bit
of a hassle because of all the stuff.
I would recomend a FAX as it is just Jack and one employee working and he
does keep busy.
Good luck and please let me know any feelings to the contrary.
