MR. ALLEN? YOU'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT ME I HOPE! MY STUDENTS CALL ME THAT,
BUT YOU SURE DON'T NEED TO!

BY "ORIGINAL," I SUPPOSE YOU MEAN UNDAMAGED, TOO? I DON'T MEAN TO SOUND
DUMB, BUT DOES THAT MEAN WE SHOULD PRESERVE ORIGINAL DENTS, ETC.? I KNOW
THAT MANY COLLECTING COMMUNITIES (TOY TRAINS, FOR EXAMPLE) MEAN JUST THAT:
IF THE OBJECT IS TO HAVE WORTH, IT MUST BE "AS FOUND." AGAIN, I'M NOT BEING
DELIBERATELY DIFFICULT, BUT THIS KIND OF THING OPENS UP OPPORTUNITIES FOR
INTERPRETATION UNLESS VERY CAREFULLY CONSTRUCTED.
