As regards the 270 head gaskets I think the reason that I notice them
failing is that the rest of the unit seems indestructable. probaly the
clutch and pressure plate comes next on the list after the head gasket,
and I suspect theat mot of the clutch failures are caused by inadequate
adjustment (dont forget the pedal free travel folks!) Gordon Scotland
