Hi List,
I have a "Guide Headlamp 682-C" according to the small oval tag riveted to
the top. It's free to anyone willing to pay the shipping. It came on a '41
Dodge we ended up with and the original paint appears to be black (later
painted OD) so I'm guessing civilian but thought maybe somebody could use it
so I'll give it a week or two before it joins the dump run pile.
It looks very much like a WC12 headlamp (the shape anyway), is 8" in
diameter (approx) and has a chrome trim ring holding in the sealed beam bulb.
The base is riveted to the body, sits on a pedestal that is slotted (to allow
adjustment?) and the bottom part is teardrop shaped approx 9" long. There is
a marker(?) light on top of the body. It's approx 5" long and contoured to
the shape of the light and held on by one screw through the middle of it. The
glass in it is heavy and "pointed" with very light "ribs" on the inside.
There is a gasket under the glass to seal the bulb from getting wet. There
are 3 wires with cloth insulation exiting the base of the body.

Let me know,
