Hmm, all vehicles whose primary role was to carry personnel had '20'
prefixes, as for example both my WC56 and WC53. Vanderveen's first
little book had the decode, along with '0' prefixes for trailers.

Doesn't always hold true though, especially for any vehicles built out
of sequence as specials or prototypes. In Crismon you will find an
illustration of a VC6 1/2 ton Dodge Carryall bearing the number
W-22297, which is from the middle of a set of closed cab pickup
serials. Further the Dodge Master Parts List says only 24 VC6s were
built, and serialed W-205696 to W-205719. So I assume that 22297 was
the Carryall prototype and was just numbered in sequence with the
pickups that were 'on the line' at the time. Now if only I could
persuade Buzz to recheck the hood serial on that 1/2 ton Carryall he
found ........
