[MV] conversions to M 725

Hi All,
I am new to this game so please excuse any "stupid" questions.
I am currently looking at a '67 or '69 M 725 and am finding that mechanics
that are familiar with the tornado six are harder to find then a needle in
a hay stack (at least around me). So I have been reading through the
archived messages and found that a chevy 350 is a common conversion. The
first question that I having dealing with that then is how hard is it to
convert it to a 350 and second how difficult is it to convert the 350 to
24v or the vehicle to 12v? and before anybody bites my head off for even
thinking such thoughts all parts would be kept for a possible conversion
back, which adds another dimension to the conversion of being able to just
as easily undo it.
Also I do have a bit of an idea of what I would be getting into with the
restoration because I am just in the finishing stages of rebuilding a '79
CJ 7 (with a fiberglass body and the stock 258 AMC). And along those
lines I am having some electrical problems with it so if any of you
electrical experts out there have any ideas feel free to email me. The
problem is that it is currently burning out the temp. and fuel gauges
(getting too many volts but why?).
thanks in advance
Rob in Mich.
