[MV] Brake Fluid

During the recent discussion on disappearing brake fluid, someone indicated he
used DOT3 versus the recommended silicon fluid.

Since I am just about ready to put fluid in the rebuilt brake system of my 1945
MB jeep, this discussion triggered several questions:

1. Given that everything is new/refurbished, is there any preference to DOT3
versus the silicon?

2. While this phase of the restoration will be completed, it will be several
years before my 1945 jeep will be ready to drive. Would it be better to put the
fluid in now, or keep everything capped-off and fill later? (I am leaning
towards filling now so that the seals stay lubricated and clean -- any
recommendations?)

Thanks in advance, Herb
