Hi Mick, from memory you should be able to run the pump till the seal
gives up because of bearing slop - I've never heard of any serious
damage caused by this, stay with it. On the same theme be careful not
to overdose the poor thing with antifreeze as too high a strength will
kill the aforementioned seal, especially if the bearing is sloppy to
start with.

Tyres? I run original pattern NDT on everything, they look better and
they are perfectly adequate for light use. At high speed on ice and
snow they do not grip worth a damn, but then neither do modern tyres
when fitted to our old suspension systems. Fit a new NDT and use it
carefully - you'll be OK.

You might consider getting the thing mobile and visiting one of the
dealers on the south coast of England with a handfull of cash, just
replace all the stuff whilst at the dealers and there is none of that
nasty import duty stuff, or VAT, or transport, not to mention the fact
that many dealers are cheaper to deal with in hard cash - just a
thought. Gordon 8-)
