[MV] I couldn't stand it any more: RUSTY GAS!

I reached my limit! I couldn't stand it any more: RUSTY GAS!

The rust and filth in my M38 gas tank and lines has caused me endless
trouble, so I pulled everything for a major fuel system overhaul (What a
nasty job draining and disposing of all that contaminated gasoline).

My original intention was to clean and reinstall the tank, install new fuel
lines, filter, and pump, and be back on the road. Then I got a look at the
inside of the tank. I found a significant rusty crust on the inside, so I
decided to buy some gas tank sealer to seal it the interior and lock the rust
in place.

While shopping around for the sealer, I found that catalog outfit JC Whitney
sells replacement fuel tanks suitable for CJ2A, CJ3A, and CJ3B jeeps.
Knowing the simularities between the M38 and CJ3A, and looking at the tiny
catalog illustration, I'm thinking that buying this tank would be the best
solution to my problems.

Any opinions of this idea? Do you think JCWhitney's tank would be a
reasonable replacement for (or at least easily adapable to) my '51 M38's
tank?

Thanks!

Smells like 90-wt gear oil leaking onto a garage floor.

My original intention was to and cleaned it out. It was still rusty
