Hello all,
A friend of mine, John Farley from England, who is making a book about
WW2 Jeeps has the following question:
Some of the pictures he found, shows Jeeps with a strange registration
number, it starts with a X, like the following pictures:

England Dec 1943, U.S. Bomp Dump
1942 GPW, Reg.number: USA X 24714-S
White start on hood
No markings on front bumber, except for 2 white bands on bumber ends

England Dec 1944 U.S 9th Air Force 456th Bomb Group Bomber Base
1942 GPW, Reg.number: USA X 25111-S
456-3 on right side of front bumber and 2 white bands on bumber ends

England B-17 Bomber Base
1942 GPW, Reg.number: USA X 25126-S
Has white star on rear quarterpanel and SQ on rear right hand
bumberette, shipping details stencilled below bodyhandle on passenger
side

If somebody can tell me more about this, please give me a mail.

Regards Robert
