[MV] MORE M715 ENGINE STUFF

Thanks to all who gave advice/tips/leads/offers regarding my trashed
6-230 tornado engine. I was hoping to rebuild or replace it without
adaptation, but it doesn't look as if that's going to be economical. Turns out
that JC Whitney can't get a rebuild kit fot the 230. Other sources want gobs
of $$ for the equivalent parts.

Most of the replies suggested an upgrade to a 350cid engine, so that may
very well be the direction I'm headed. It's turns out to be almost as costly,
and more of a hassle to revive my tornado than to upgrade to the 350.

I've found a place that has used 350's for $350-400. Add the price of
the novak adapter-$380, a mount kit-$80 I think, and.....who knows what else.
Anyhow, an upgrade is becoming more appealing.

NOW I'M ON A QUEST TO FIND SOMEONE WHO HAS MADE THIS UPGRADE. I have several
questions If you don't mind. Specifically:

-Did you use the novak kit or advance adaptor kit ($500)?

-Did you keep the T98?

-If so, what flywheel/clutch did you use?

-What did your adapter kit include? I assume it's more than just a
bellhousing.

-Did the mount kit use the original mounts in any way? Mine were torched off
when the military 230 was replaced by a civillian one.

-What, besides the engine, mounts and adapters did you have to purchase to
make this work? I'm hoping that an exhaust system is about it.

-Will the original clutch linkage still work?

-Does the 350 have any trouble fitting in the engine bay (front or sides)?
Looked at one in the junk yard today-seems pretty huge.

-Does it interfere with the winch PTO shaft or support in any way? I'm kind
of fond of the winch and would hate to have to change it around in any way.

-Any unforseen expenses or difficulty in upgrading that should be watched out
for?

-If you had to do it over again, what would you do differently?

Well, enough questions for now.

Thanks to anyone that can help.
