Hi All,
Colin is quite right, nobody in their right mind could take offence to
your legal entanglements here and the references to the IRA, just
remember double yellow lines along the edge of the road mean no
parking - ever. These are extremely common here.

Colin has made reference to the Southsea Show and to save the Viking
Expeditionary Force or any one else for that matter going to the wrong
place here's the latest info.

There was no D-Day show, or anything else at Southsea last year as the
local authority has ruled that any rain within 3 days prior to any event
would result in cancellation and access being barred. Working on the
planning a year ahead therefore makes this a no-go.

At short order the MVT re-scheduled 1997 at Bordon, a convenient venue
fully enclosed and with official Military security, at the last moment
MOD required vendors/caterers fees of 2000 - 4000 UKP each and the
written protestations of the OIC were ineffectual.

In even shorter order Popham Airfield was arranged but as expected many
arrived at an empty Southsea and a closed Bordon Camp. Popham is not
easy to find and is really way out of the area; it is inappropriate for
the D-Day show.

This year the D-Day show will be at DENMEAD on private ground, a little
to the north of Portsmouth. Depending on what the clerk of the weather
hands out between now and then you can expect anything from dust to mud.
. . . . . .
As its less than 8 miles from here my FV 623 will be there with all
accoutrements operational should any one need a little tug, should it
get muddy enough to stick this then there is a real problem.

Apologies for virtually falling off the topic line and hope to see the
Vikings later, as a member of the Solent MVT I'll forward any extra
details.

Best regards,

Richard
