I certainly agree with the couple of comments to the group that suggest
that if you are friendly and cooperative it goes a long way with law
enforcement. I can't speak for the entire law enforcement community, but
here are a couple additional thoughts...

1) Be polite and courteous (we like that, and its less threatening)
2) Keep gun concealment laws in mind (even if they are unloaded, it may
be against the law to conceal them, in addition, magazines should be out
of the weapons, empty or not)
3) Keep guns out of reach of the occupants if possible (when traveling -
therefore if you are stopped, you are less a threat)
4) If you are dressed in a foreign uniform, law enforcement may take you
for a militia member at first - take care to explain who you are.
Officers have been killed by militia members.
5) It is possible that an officer, upon observing weapons in your
vehicle, may draw his/her gun for officer safety reasons - not to worry,
keep your hands in view, calmly explain that you will cooperate with
them, and move slowly, unless they tell you otherwise. Tell other
occupants to do the same. Keep in mind you know who law enforcement is -
they do not know who you are.
6) Have your identification and weapon paperwork handy.

That's all that comes to mind right now ... be safe,
