I still have to do some investigating on how I can get rid of the tar tan=
k
on the back of the truck. It must hold 800 gallons. It was used to
spread the stuff they put down between layers of ashpalt, looks like
driveway sealer. The owner of the truck said that there is still probabl=
y
100 gallons left in the tank. There is also a nissan 4 cylinder engine
mounted along side the tank that is setup to run a pump. I'd just want t=
o
strip off all of the tar tank, pump, etc and put a bed back on it. If th=
is
tar coating material is considered hazardous waste, this guy (seller) may=

have a problem. Since disposing of the tank and contents might cost some=

serious money. I still need to look into this. =

Normally this tar coating is heated before being applied so the tank is
setup with burners that heat the tar contents. But most of the burner
piping/propane tank mounts have been removed. It really wouldn't be hard=

to get the tank off, the problem is what do you do with it afterwards. I=
'm
sure the tank, pump and piping weigh a good 2-3000 lbs. Perhaps I shoul=
d
stop find some asphalt contractor who would like to buy the tank/pump and=

piping, sell it to them after I remove it and use the money to pay for th=
e
truck? Who knows. I'm not done yet.
