My brother was cleaningout his house, and looking for a birthday present
for me at the same time. He came across the old WWII radio he bought in
High School--and killed two birds with one stone--guess what I am
getting for my birthday?

What is this unit used for? Any details would be appreciated. It is in
good shape--and operated not less than a few years ago. He can repair
whatever needs to be fixed on it. It is in very good plus condition,
and has been adapted to 115v.

BC342N, designed by the Signal Corps, and prodiced in Indiana, includes
LS-3 unit. The TM is dated 1945 from what he says. The unit is in
Texas, and me in Missouri--soI can;t just scope it over easily. It is
the transceiver, with a separate loudspeaker unit, with an original
cord. It does not have a microphone or anything. We used it in the
yearly Eighties to listen to Radio Moscow's version of the invasion of
Afghanistan. Fun huh?
Thanks in advance--Tim
