[MV] M-37 Transmission Woes

While changing the lubricant on My M-37 transmission I discovered the reverse
shifter plunger lug on the bottom of the transmission case. This led me to
pull the transmission top and reveled that the 1st and 2nd sliding gear,
countershaft, and idler reverse gear are all chipped with worn ends.
Question: Is the rebuild of this type of transmission an expensive operation
or does it require specialized knowledge or tools? Should I look for another
transmission (are they available)?

Thanks in advance
