Post, Bare with me as this is my first posting with the "List".
Regarding the resent postings on gun mounts used by the SAS jeeps. I
just last week purchased the complete set of "The Marshall Cavendish
Illustrated Encyclopedia Of World War II". I like to collect photos of
jeeps being used in combat. In vol. 21 the very first photo is a full
page picture of a U.S. Marine standing next to a jeep that you can
clearly see a gun mount on the upper right corner of the dash. Also the
windshield has been removed. It also appears that the installer used the
front safety strap ring hook as part of the mounting hardware for the
mount bracket. Unfortunately the gun is not on the mount to see what
type they used. Sorry I don't have the means to post the photo. Maybe
some one who has the collection can scan and post it. Thanks
