According to the "hard to read" data plate it is a M35A2 NSN
2320-077-1617 and was manufactured by AM General. I do not know what
year it is, but the serial no. from the data plate is 04J-68271 0539
12401.
Using the classification scale in The Standard Catalog of MV's I would
put it at a 4-5. The soft top is unserviceable, the front PTO shaft is
out, and lots of fairly serious looking rust. On the positive side:
the tires were good, the engine started on the first try and sounded
good, and the sheet metal was pretty straight.
I left a message on the owner's machine but have not heard back yet. No
price was listed. The phone number listed is 919-266-5900.
I don't know if anyone is looking, but I thought I would share the
find. It would be a fairly serious restoration from what I could see.
