If the pan threads are what is bad, you simply take the old plug in to
your auto parts store. They will have a plug one size bigger with self
tapping threads. If originality is important put out the call for a
replacement pan with nice threads and a nice plug. If by chance the
plug threads are bad then the pan probably is ok. Then just find
another plug. Not a huge problem, more of an annoyance, unless you need
