Hello List,

I have been given the offer to buy a M4 Tractor. Can anyone provide
me with any additional information about this tractor. I know it weighs in
around 14 tons, has a Waukesha 6-cyl engine developing 190 bhp. It has a
transmission consisting of 3F1RX3 with a torque converter. It also uses
steel tracks. What I don't know about is parts availibility, and prices.
Also if I could get information about steel tracks (you know advandatges and
disadvantages). Asking price is a little over $1,000 but that is not
without its little quirks. It was running when parked (don't know how long)
and the owner filles the cylinders with oil to help preserve the engine, and
there were some distributor parts missing which the present owner never
bought. The ammo compartments on the rear are missing, and the original
seats are gone. But the 30 TON winch is there (would that be Hydraulic, PTO,
or Ele.? :) ). I also need to have it hauled around 500 miles. :( This
would be my first tracked vehicle restoration, so all info is very much
appreciated.

Sincerely,
Robert Buettner

Still waiting for that "right" MV to come along...
