This coming weekend is the annual WWII weekend at Jefferson Barracks,
which is located in South County by the Mississippi river in St. Louis,
MO. It is sponsored by the Gateway Military Historical Society.

There will be WWII displays and reenactment battles. Normally, there
are two battleson saturday (11 or noonish and maybe 3ish), and one on
Sunday (maybe 11 or noon). The Armed Forces Museum of St. Louis will
have it's normal parade of vehicles on site for use during the event and
display.

On Saturday night there will be a big band USO show held at the
Jefferson barracks reserve base mess hall, with a 30 piece big band. It
is always a good time.

I will be attending with 11th Panzer. If anyone wants to say hello,
I'll be sleeping in the barn saturday night--look for the kraut around
the barn with the MP-40 and 11th Panzer/Tim. At the USO dance I'll be
in my WWII equivalent of my current USAR uniform--84th Division Captain.

The reenactments and displays will be held in the north county park
portion. There are usually signs up, and ample parking.

Some of you may have seen the saga of the Armed Forces Museum, and then
getting kicked out of the Charles Melvin Price Support Center in Granite
City, IL by the Army. I heard this week that apparently the publicity
they received was the best thing that ever happened to them. They now
have access to a 2,000 acre site located in Jefferson County (due south
of St Louis--Arnold, MO area) and a benefactor. Also, the site is
suitable and may eventually be used for reenactments, although they are
taking babysteps at this point. I am glad to heard Carol Venable and
his group has found a better and lasting home. This story was reprinted
ina Fall issue of SUPPLY LINE. Tim
