Mark,

If you want to install an oil cooler for the transfer case, instead of =
drilling holes in the case itself (which could potentially introduce =
stress-related problems), why don't you just modify the filler and drain =
plugs? They could be set up so that you don't have to remove the plugs to =
drain or refill the case.

You might also want to consider using a synthetic gear lube, which should =
reduce the operating temperatures somewhat.
