What is a "Dodge Railroad Special"???
I have a great interest in military railways (Armoured trains, railroad
artillery, trains transporting heavy tanks and military vehicles).
I know that the jeep was transformed for rail use by replacing the wheels
with rail wheels (there were two types of wheels). One jeep like this was
at the Portland MVPA Meeting two years ago and a photo has been published
in "Supply Line".
Many such jeeps were used by the Italian State Railways (Ferrovie dello
Stato) for rail maintance up to a few years ago.
Also the CCKW was transformed for rail use.
The Dodge was transformed for rail use too? Any photo available? I am
curious to see it!
