If compression is 140 across,how was it done?
Carb should be wide open,pull all the plugs,and air cleaner.
On the first stroke of compression watch what reading you get and continue
to crank untill there is no change(should be about 4 or 5 cranks).
The first stroke should read 90 pounds or better.
After all this do it all again but squirt a bit of oil in the spark plug
hole and watch for any increase in compression reading.
If you still get around the 140 mark then i would suggest that you drain the
fuel and put in new good stuff.Sounds like you got water in the fuel.
