Chris:
I thought about doing the same thing, only my mechanic talked me out of
it. According to him, a) 2.8L isn't enough, b)engine runs under computer
control, ala oxy sensors, fuel injection, etc. Not a good match. I was
going to use a 4.3L from an 89 S10Blazer. However, it seems it may not
be a good idea.

Maybe the list has some comments?
